Tips for phone water damage
You might have attempted to wipe off any water that was visible and shake the phone a few times to get the water out after getting over your shock at witnessing your phone fall into the bathtub.
Shaking your phone won't work, though, if it was completely submerged in water. Will my phone ever work properly again, or will it blow up in my face as I scroll through TikTok?
Let us provide you with a response to it.
No and yes.
After you rescue your phone from drowning, what should you do?
You're ready to find out how seriously damaged your phone is after exiting what should have been a soothing bath. Will it require pricey repairs? Has your phone been made fully inoperable as a result of the liquid damage? Don't panic; we'll explain what to do if your phone accidentally falls into the water.
1. Power off - Whether you want to admit it or not, the first thing you do when your phone has problems is turn it off. You are correct, so we won't argue against you! Anyone with experience working with electronics is aware that running currents through a wet electronic circuit can occasionally result in lethal complications.
2. Remove any moving parts - Your phone's case should be the first thing you take off! Without a doubt, wearing it will prevent you from properly wiping the device off. Remove your SIM card and tray, memory card, and, if feasible, your phone's battery after discarding your already-soaked case. Basically, remove any removable parts and allow them to air dry.
3. Choose the proper clothe - What kind of cloth or towel should you use to clean your phone with? You should try to find the softest cloth you can. If you don't, your phone could get scuffed and liquid-damaged. Get a soft, lint-free cloth that you would use to clean your glasses if you want to avoid damaging your phone by using the wrong towel. In order to prevent scratches, always choose the softest cloth.
4. Let it dry - If your phone turns off after being submerged in water, it's a good idea to turn it on and see if it's still working. We have to stop you here - parts of your phone can get wet and the current can cause further damage. After wiping off any visible liquid residue, place your phone and its components on an absorbent towel and place in a cool, dry place. This is the painful part because you have to wait for everything to dry and know if your next stop is to go to a phone repair shop for professional help.
